What is a voice broker?

A voice broker is an intermediary who manually connects blockchain projects with market makers, typically through phone calls, messaging apps, and personal networks. Voice brokers maintain relationships with multiple trading firms and earn commissions or referral fees for facilitating introductions and negotiations. While voice brokers can provide access to reputable firms, the process is inherently opaque — projects have limited visibility into the full range of available options, the competitiveness of proposed terms, or whether the broker's recommendation is driven by the project's best interest versus commission incentives. The model also lacks standardization, making it difficult to compare proposals across firms on an apples-to-apples basis.
