Without one, your token is unlikely to have organic liquidity, which can negatively impact price stability, trading volume, and exchange relationships. Organic liquidity is unlikely to exist for a newly issued token because the expected value of providing liquidity is not attractive for regular traders seeking to profit from either capturing the bid / ask spread on a central limit order book ("CLOB") or generating revenue from fee sharing on an automated market making ("AMM") protocol.
