What are the most common positioning mistakes that hurt projects at listing stage?

The most damaging mistake is overpromising and underdelivering — across product, utility, and timing.

From a product standpoint, teams market features that are not live, not stable, or not meaningfully adopted. If usage does not match the narrative at TGE, credibility erodes quickly.

From a utility standpoint, tokens are positioned as essential before real integration exists. If staking, fee capture, governance, or incentives are not functional at launch, the market interprets the token as speculative rather than structural.

Timing is equally critical. Announcing aggressive roadmaps or exchange ambitions that slip undermines trust during the most visible phase of the project's lifecycle.

At listing, expectations are amplified. If execution lags narrative, price performance suffers. The safest positioning strategy is disciplined: launch with what works, communicate what is real, and understate what is not yet live.
